Team:

  • Each team is allowed a total of 13 players on their team with a minimum of 10 players.
  • Each team is allowed to have 3 Non-Muslim players on their team.
  • 10 players in the field at all time. You may start the game with 8 players.
  • Only players and coaches may sit on the bench.
  • No non-roster players will be allowed during playoffs. All players must have played in a minimum of 1 regular season game in order to play in the playoffs. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Each team will receive a pre-bundled set of colored jerseys with various sizes at the beginning of the tournament.

Game:

  • There will be a coin flip at the beginning of the game to determine the who will bat first and who will take the field first.  During the playoffs the higher seed will take the field first.
  • All batters will start with a one ball, one strike count. A batter with two strikes is allowed one foul ball. On the second foul with two strikes, the batter is out.
  • Games start on time!!! Teams must be prepared to play. Forfeit rule: 10 minutes after game time.

 Scoring:

  • Game mercy rule: 10 runs up after five complete innings (home team always gets their final at bats when the last inning has been called).
  • There will be a 7 run limit per inning during innings 1-4. Unlimited runs may be scored in innings 5, 6, and 7, or in any extra innings.

Format:

  • Teams may bat more than 10 players; if they have bench players. The lineup must be given to the umpire prior to the start of the game.
  • If a player comes late to the game, they cannot be added to the batting order; they must be substituted into the game in order for them to bat.
  • If a player is on the lineup card and is not present during their at-bat, this will be an automatic out.
  • All players in the field must be listed in the batting order. There are no designated hitters allowed.
  • Substitutions must be done at the beginning of the inning:
    •  A team with only 10 players in the line up card: substitution will replace the player in the field and the batting lineup.
    • A team that is batting all players on their roster and want to substitute a player that is not fielding will need to notify the umpire at the beginning of the inning.  The substituted player will still be allowed to bat after being subbed out of the field and the batting order will not change.

Gameplay:

  • All games are seven innings or one hour (warm up time included).
  • No lead-offs or stealing allowed. Runners may leave the base once the ball crosses the plane of the plate or is hit by the batter. If a runner leaves early, the ball is dead and the runner is declared out. If this is the 3rd out of the inning the batter will be first up in the next inning.
  • A “strike mat” will be used to determine balls and strikes. If the softball touches any part of the mat on a legal pitch (6’-12’ arc), it will be considered a strike. Pitches touching any part of the plate WILL BE considered a strike as well.
  • On an infield fly (any fly ball within the infield with significant arc and deemed an “easy catch”) with less than 2 outs and runners on 1st and 2nd or 1st, 2nd and 3rd, the batter is automatically out and runners can advance, BUT at their own risk.
  • Pitching Mound: The pitching mound will be the distance of 45’ feet from home plate. Pitchers are allowed only one step in any direction off of the mound.
  • NO METAL SPIKES ARE ALLOWED. You are only allowed to wear plastic spikes during the games.
  • BAT POLICY: Participants are allowed to use any softball bat for 16” softball leagues.

Umpires:

  • An umpire will be provided by One! Athletics to supervise the game. It will be the umpire’s responsibility to coordinate and run the games.

Playoffs:

  • Playoffs will begin immediately following the end of the regular season. After teams have been seeded according to their records all captains will be notified of their first playoff game.
  • Seeding will be determined by regular season record, point differential, then points allowed.
  • Playoffs are single elimination. Seeding:
